We’ve just had a great team meeting in Reading where we planned out the next steps for the mobile app.
Thanks to all the testing and feedback, we’ve generated over 100 improvements that we plan to make over the next few weeks.
Some of the things we are working on now include:
- Combining accounts to make sure you only need one Good Ways login
- Reliability within the app – getting back to navigation when paused, and more reliable uploading
- Improvements to route drawing on the web to make it smoother and more reliable
- Ability to see and edit your past journeys, and easily transform them into routes
- More stats about the impact you’ve had on the community in sharing routes
- Tools to make your routes look more professional, think Instagram-style post editor
And we’ve got a bunch of fun and larger things planned too. More on that in later posts!
A huge thank you to anyone who’s used our website, downloaded the app or got out and had an adventure already with Good Ways. It’s amazing to see so much positive feedback, and we’re all feeling very lucky to be able to work alongside such a generous group of people who are willing to help shape Good Ways and who can see the potential of what we’re trying to achieve.
We’ve also heard all the constructive feedback and teething issues you’ve faced. We still have a lot of work to do to make sure we’ve addressed the things you’ve told us could be improved.
In particular, we’ll be focusing on making the apps easier to get started and reliable to use. That means solving the bugs, but also making everything as friendly, as kind and as intuitive as we can.
It’s not too late to get involved if you haven’t yet given Good Ways a go yet. If you’ve not signed up yet please join us as Founder Member. You can then create an account at app.goodways.org, then visit this page to download the mobile app.
If anyone is unable to use the mobile or desktop apps, or found them hard due to having additional needs, we’re very keen to hear from you so we can fix it.
Everyone should be able to get the most from Good Ways, and building with accessibility in mind helps improve the experience for everyone.
We can’t make Good Ways good for you without you!
Please keep all the feedback coming. We read and think about everything we get, and it’s all helping us make Good Ways better.
