I’m very excited to introduce The Good Ways Podcast – a new way for our members, supporters and followers to keep up with Good Ways, whether you’re out and about or listening from home.
We’re sure other people will listen too, but first and foremost we’re making this podcast for Good Ways members: to keep you closer to the project, introduce you to interesting people and ideas, share what we’re learning and give you more ways to get involved.
Produced by our friends at Preston Street Films, in each episode we’ll hear from people who love getting outdoors and are helping others to do the same. We’ll share stories, spotlight inspiring projects, pick up useful tips and reflect on what makes a good way good.
You’ll also hear updates from behind the scenes at Good Ways: how the app and website are developing, how our community is growing, answers to your questions and ideas for getting more involved.
Some episodes will be conversations recorded while we’re out and about. Most will simply be audio for you to listen to wherever you happen to be. This first episode was recorded at Exeter Library, and we filmed it too – so you can choose to watch or listen.
Please subscribe to The Good Ways Podcast wherever you usually listen to podcasts.

You’ll find lots of listening options here. The podcast is still finding its way into some services, so if one does not work please try another. The first episode is further down this page too.
If you enjoy it, it would be brilliant if you could leave us a review – it really helps.
And we’d love your questions. Leave a comment on this post, email [email protected], or send us a voice note on WhatsApp +44 7513 437207 and we may answer your question in a future episode.
Pop your headphones on, head out for a good way – or settle in at home – and join us. 🎧

Episode 1: Leila Manion & Jo Earlham
In our very first episode, I meet Leila Manion, who is doing inspiring work to champion the voices of disabled people in Devon and help make getting outdoors more accessible.
I also catch up with Jo Earlham, just before she sets off on the next 110-mile stage of her epic journey walking the length and breadth of mainland Britain.
We talk about access, confidence, adventure, local knowledge and the difference that having good information about routes can make.
I hope you enjoy it.
