Visit almost any neighbourhood or village in the country and you’ll find groups with brilliant local routes to share, often backed by specialist knowledge of the area – from routes that are especially accessible, to ones that are great for enjoying nature or perfect for children.

But when we visit somewhere new, there still isn’t one go-to app or trusted place where we can easily find all these routes. This is especially true when thinking about people’s different needs, abilities, interests and ways of actively getting about.

While millions of people already use apps that are great for them, millions of others don’t.

You will know someone who is underserved by mainstream route apps – we want Good Ways to help them and everyone.

We have an ambitious vision: to make it possible for everyone to find the best available routes by enabling charities and nonprofits across the UK, Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands to share great local routes, designed for both local people and visitors.

Individuals will be able to share routes on the new Good Ways app, and so will charities and nonprofits. Each organisation will have its own profile and personality on the platform.

Staff and volunteer members will be able to work together to draw and create routes people can trust, contribute local knowledge and reviews, and curate useful route collections and connected networks. Organisations will be able to design routes around the particular needs and interests of their communities, while also helping wider audiences discover their area.
